So I've added a new precious metal to the Bandits stack.
I've mainly been stacking gold, silver and lead over the years so this purchase was outside of the box for me.
Can you guess what it is by the picture below?
I bought 1,200 dollars of Titanium!
Well....🤔
There was a considerable markup due to what it actually is, so the scrap value is nowhere near that much. Any guesses?
And in a sense, I kinda got screwed...literally.
Here ya go!
That my friend is 3 surgical grade screws made from Titanium that has been in my foot for the past 5 or so years.
These screws have done nothing but cause me extreme pain and as of yesterday they are finally out!
I had to continuously remind everyone including the surgeon that I wanted to take them home with me. I was asked why I wanted them and I said "I paid 1,200 dollars for those things, why not keep them? I will do something with them, just not sure what yet. I may melt them down and cast bullets from them."
Any other ideas on what I could do with these extremely overpriced pieces of Titanium?
I almost got a pink cast but chickened out and went with Chicago Bears orange instead.
Brilliant buddy. Glad you had them taken out if they were causing some discomfort.
I definitely would have asked to keep them too.

Yeah, I wish that I would have invested in that back when it was low.

Glad to see you on the other side of this @bluelightbandit! By July, walking easier, with any luck. (I like your choice of cast colour.)
You know people have well meaning opinions and that they can be right assholes from time to time, right?
Sometimes, it’s even hard to distinguish the difference.
Here’s my well meaning opinion: (You’d get it whether you want it or not because you know that I fall off my fucking pedestal and chip my tiara every damn day.)
Let those mofo screws go...what do you need a piddly little pile of titanium for? ~ pile inspector
... I don’t think you need to hang onto any reminder of that pain...or how bad that time was...or risk toxic exposure from a re-cast.
Too bad you couldn’t donate them. Not like they can’t be sterilized or that the structural integrity would be compromised...they’re titanium.
Feel better soon. ;)
