While at the Local Coin Shop, a week or two ago, this US Silver Half Dollar caught my eye:

Today, of course it was still there. Who would buy it, when it had to be the worst coin, in the junk box. Imagine how many hands or machines it when through, to be so cleanly worn, but, not damaged. She could be over a hundred years old. But, who would be willing to pay $10(USD) when one could get one like this for the same price:

As much as I admire the old classic, I regret I will have to pass, on it, because someone will, eventually, come into the Local Coin Shop, and say, "Is this all the Silver you have, OK, I'll take it all."

I love the old and worn coins , It means they have a long history and i would have bought that coin in a second just to keep it safe and preserve a small ammount of history smiles :)

Thanks for looking and commenting, @coindevil. Interesting, I never looked at it that way.

I once carried a Very Nice Looking 1924 Silver Dollar in my Pocket, until it was about like your Half Dollar above... I stopped carrying my Favorite Coins after that...

Thanks for looking, @pocket-change. Interesting, I once wondered how long it would take to wear down an uncirculated coin to an average looking coin.

It doesn't take long at all...
