Bah!

So in typical style I wrote half of a post last night. Then..... πŸ˜πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜πŸ˜‘πŸ˜‘πŸ˜΄πŸ˜΄πŸ’€ #sleeppost!

So boring it put ME to sleep! πŸ€£πŸ˜‚

Then esteem didn’t save the post. 😐 It just disappeared somewhere in the tubes of the internet. So, tonight we try again.

I have been buying a stupid amount of silver lately. After a looooong dry spell, I even had some success at my local coin shop yesterday. πŸŽ‰ Tonight seems a good a time as any to show off some of the new shiny.

Hyper-local

Repping Washington State and the PNW.

Two of yesterday’s silver purchases had a distinctly local flavor!

First up is a silver trade unit from the Northwest Territorial Mint. I had been hoping to find this round for awhile. I love the map of the Pacific Northwest (my little corner of the world). The round shows all or part of the US states Washington, Oregon, California, Idaho, Nevada, Montana, Wyoming and Utah. It also shows a few of the major cities and mountain ranges. The coolest part is you can see and FEEL the topography on this round! Love it! The round is one troy ounce, .999 pure and was minted in 1990.

Next is a round celebrating the centennial of Washington State. Issued in 1989, this round also promotes the long defunct Security Pacific Bank of Washington. It is .999 fine and also one troy ounce. On the face of the round is an image of George Washington (first President of the United States) with the outline of the state in the background.

YAY for local stuff!!! πŸ˜‚

Time to hit post before 😴😴...

What part of the NW is best for horsebackriding - farmstay with good food in the evening and something to do for non-riders as well. Any idea ? We often read Montana but perhaps this is not correcct.

Oh gosh... I have no idea. There are probably hundreds of choices. Montana or Wyoming would probably give you that Wild West vibe. But Oregon could be good too. Oregon is also famous for wine and beers. Perhaps around Bend, Oregon?

Thx will study.

It's sad that NWT Mint is no longer in business. Their website is still there but the business is gone and no longer putting out their products.

It is extra sad because the Mint wasn’t too far from here! 😭😭😭

Lol yes dad. πŸ˜‚πŸ€£

Speaking of you have been sooooo absent from discord lately!

Its been hell DFinn without my truck. I waisting ao much time driving around borrowing trucks.

I like the NWTM trade dollar, and like you love that it depicts the map of where I have lived for most of my life, but more because it is a "silver trade unit" which generic rounds are. I love your pickups, sweet stacking sister, @dfinney!!! Have a beautiful week!

The silver trade units are cool just because so many surprising images pop up on there other side. Some of my most interesting rounds have been trade units.

No, how can it be boring when you get new pieces? (Face hits the keyboard) zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz(Wakes up 30 minutes later) Whoa!

Haha! Just kidding. These are great pieces @dfinney and it is always nice to find good stuff local.
