Year of the Boar 🐷

Greetings Steem Silver Gold!

Quite a few new coins have been released for the upcoming Year of the Pig. The reception for these has generally been tepid at best. Which is a shame because pigs are awesome (and cute and ever so intelligent). πŸ–

Here is another contender in the pig pile.

The Bhutan Lunar Year of the Boar

πŸ‡§πŸ‡Ή Bhutan is said to be the happiest country in the world. Appropriately, that is one happy looking and stylized pig! This coin is the fourth released by the Singapore Mint for Bhutan’s lunar series. Each coin is 1oz and .999 pure.

Reverse

The coin’s reverse is intricately styled and depicts the national emblem of the Kingdom of Bhutan. In the emblem you might see the two dragons and a lotus flower. The official description of the emblem is as follows:
The national emblem, contained in a circle, is composed of a double diamond-thunderbolt placed above a lotus, surmounted by a jewel and framed by two dragons. The thunderbolt represents the harmony between secular and religious power. The lotus symbolizes purity; the jewel expresses sovereign power; and the two dragons, male and female, stand for the name of the country which they proclaim with their great voice, the thunder. ☺️ Every day is a little better with a bathing piglet.

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

I like the reverse! Nice coin

Yeah it is super intricate. Dragons are usually a winning addition to any coin.

Looks a good round but you have to look twice to see the pig, and I am loving the micro pig. Would love to see more porky pig coins

Yeah the year of the dog coin in this series is also very camouflaged. I like that they are both just very different. Micro pigs are the cutest.

A piggy connoisseur! πŸ˜„πŸ–

Between the Royal Mint version and this one, I like this one much better.

☺️ It definitely seems hard to give the noble pig the fine coin it deserves.

I like all versions of the Year of the Pig. Very nice pick-up, my friend @dfinney! Pigs can be so adorable!

That is a happy looking piggy there! Although, if you had asked me before I read it... I would have thought it was a sheep!

Β  Β· Β 6 years agoΒ

Lol.... the funny thing is the dog coin from last year and the pig look almost the same.... and either could be mistaken for a pig! πŸ˜„

Β  Β· Β 6 years agoΒ

Sheep, you mean sheep!

Β  Β· Β 6 years agoΒ

Lol... YES!

Ooops! πŸ˜‚πŸ€£πŸ˜‚
