In keeping with our Salute to the Military this weekend we are sharing a piece we were honored to pour recently for a fellow Silverbug from Reddit.
This is a Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge
An EOD Badge is issued in three levels and is identical No matter the Branch of Service. Each service has its own requirements to receive a basic EOD badge and it is issued upon completion of an extensive explosive handling training along with 18–24 months of field training. The next level is the Senior EOD Badge and it is issued after 3–5 years as an explosive ordnance specialist. Finally the Master Explosive Ordnance Disposal Badge is only issued after 7–15 years of service in a senior supervisory position. For someone to earn this takes a lot of dedication, a lot of training and a really steady hand. Here is a link that gives a lot more information if this is a career you would like to consider it.

Here is a video of the making of this piece:
Being in the Military is a dangerous job but some are more dangerous than others,

EOD is listed as the 3rd most dangerous job in the military.
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) Technicians are experts in the most conventional and unconventional explosives to ensure the secure and safe disposal of any explosive weaponry. They work on call in order to respond to any type of ordnance when needed. They must receive specialized training to handle many types of situations such as chemical, biological and nuclear weapons. It is also part of their job to investigate and demolish natural and man-made underwater obstructions, prepare coastal regions for amphibious landings, and to also warn about potential threats worldwide. No Matter if they are getting the job done in a bomb suit or using state-of-the-art robotic technology, EODs are trained to use the most advanced tools available of their kind in a role that is vital to the safety of all service members and civilians alike.
Once again we would like to express our thanks to all active and retired military and to the families, our deepest gratitude the soldiers that paid the ultimate price.
