Not the story about how money became money but the story that each individual coin or bill can tell? Have you ever wondered what your money has bought or meant to someone before it was in your hands? It is very fascinating when you find money in circulation that is not from your country, Here is a picture of the coins we have found in our coin hunts that are not from the US:
The trinidad pennies with the hummingbirds are beautiful, the money from the Bahamas has gorgeous artwork and we would love to know the story behind the money from South America and Europe. If any of our finds are from your country we would love to know more about it.
It is really fun to think about what these coins did to end up in our house and what they meant to someone, one of these coins could have made a very important phone call or bought milk for a hungry baby, or one could of been the last cent someone had in their pocket. There are some stories that can’t be told to all ages like in the US approximately 4 out of 100 $1 dollar bills have been given to a stripper.

So the next time you have a coin or a bill in hand take a moment and think about what it may have done before it ended up with you. And Share some of your finds if you have any!
Thanks for reading and Happy Stacking!

I love finding coins from around the world mixed in with my change too. I have the same thoughts about what my old coins have been through to end up with me.

While paper money on average only lasts a few years, coins are in circulation much longer. It's common to find coins in circulation in the U.S. back to 1965. Even longer for pennies and nickels. It's hard to imagine how many times those coins may have changed hands.
