The Celtic Lore Series Round #1

in steemsilvergold •  6 years ago

Welcome to D Wings World!! Today, we are going to start taking a look at the Celtic Lore Round Series produced by Provident Metals. This is a five round series and is near and dear to my heart! My heritage includes both Irish and Scottish roots so when I saw this series I knew I had to have it! All the rounds had a limited mintage of 2000 each and came in four different finishes antiqued, proof, colorized, and BU. Additionally, the beautiful art that was chosen for this series really translates into silver! Each round is 1 troy ounce of .999 fine silver and they all share a reverse design. All of mine shown are BU.

Love the ornate Celtic knots that surround the rim with the beautiful wolves looking inward toward the Celtic sheild in the center. Above you have the name of the wonderful series.

Merlin was the first round in this series and I think it was a strong opener! Above you will see the beautiful COA with the Celtic knot to match in with the round. Now, below you will see how beautifully the artwork of Howard David Johnson translated to the round. Featuring the wizard Merlin with his staff and in nature. His owl on his shoulder and a family of hedgehogs at his feet it really touches with his roots in Celtic folklore.

Let me know what you guys think of this round and if you picked it up. If you did what finish did you get and were you happy with the design? I can't lie I love it and would not trade it for the world. Make sure to come back tomorrow when we cover the second round in the series!! Thanks for taking a look at my content and please remember to upvote, resteem, and reply! Thanks again! ~D Wing

I have a strong affinity for Celtic culture too, despite not having any blood relation to it! I love Celtic music and admire the Celtic knot designs. I am also a 'Patrician' alumni, having attended school under the patron saint of Saint Patrick. My school logo was a 3-leaf clover.

That is awesome brother and nothing wrong with appreciating something even if it is not in your blood! Also, really cool about your schooling! Thanks for taking the time to look at and reply on my post!!

A very nice collection to have, and related to your heritage! Next time I go to the library, I will borrow a book on Celtic folklore! Thanks for showing these two pieces, my friend. Take care!

@silversaver888 the connection to my heritage is what drew me to this series. I try not to pay too many premiums, but sometimes I have to go for a series I really like. Thanks for taking the time to check out my content my friend!!
