Hi. No this is not a scam. @steemsilverround was set up by #steemsilvergold to collect donations and accept prize money for the benefit of the minting costs for the 2018 Steem round.
I am an active member of #steemsilvergold and would not jeopardize my affiliation for this type of low level scam, or any other for that matter.

Gotcha. I was a little confused that donations were being sent to a nothing account.. might be helpful to create a post with that account describing your venture.

That is probably a good idea! The #SteemSilverGold community is a tight knit group, but it would be a good idea to post something there to show others who are not part of the community, but interested in the project.
