Then There Were Five (Silver Half Dollars)

Hi Steemians,

Driving home today was a touch difficult into the sun, one of the many blessings in WA is that the sun sets over the beaches, which makes for great beach walks, picnics, photos and general romancing - a very popular past time over here on the west coast of Australia.

Getting to the point, I figured my late Grandfather may had some round '66 half dollars since he was a coin collector and an 80% pure silver coin probably wouldn't have gone unnoticed to him. In a few safely stored boxes I found things like this Captain James Cook 50 cent piece, as well as some old shillings and threepence. Excuse my hands, I have been on the tools most of the day so they are not in the best condition.

Anyhow, I finally stumbled across another four round 50 cent coins in his stash. For some reason I kind of like them a bit more than pure silver coins, maybe because they are Australian and have some history behind them.

Yes it's only four more, but that's over an ounce of silver, which for a junior stacker like me is decent.

So I snapped a few photos of my new additions....and I ponder where could it end?

Soon I will need a bigger plastic bag, maybe a metal box or a giant safe?

One thing is for sure, I will be heading back to the Perth Mint this week to get some more silver. I have been reading more and more about this precious metal and it makes more sense to me to stack than not. Plus it's addictive.

Incidentally, I have also recruited my young football co-commentator 16 year old Jessie "the dartman" Dart. I presented him with his first 1 Oz Kangaroo last Friday on our way to work. I fear he may also catch a bad case of stackitus. Nobody makes it out alive!

He hasn't stopped talking about silver since...
