American Silver Eagles - Increasing stashsteemCreated with Sketch.

Hello all,

As many have said already, it's a good time to add these pretty coins to your portfolio/stash. With Silver under $17 USD's, it's a steal IMO. One of the most undervalued assets at this time.

This is a weekly chart from ~2009, since hitting the peak in 2011, it looks to have completed a 5 year bear market, consolidated and is now slowly breaking back towards the upside. I may be biased, but with the loooooong consolidation, when it breaks (hopefully to the upside), it's going to go briskly. Short covering and hedge funds piling in should give it a good push.

I think purchasing these for X-mas or birthday gifts is a great idea, because the person that receives it will not only feel and see the value of the coin, but will be observing price appreciation over the next 5 maybe 10 years. You can get a sleeve of 20 and package them in their own plastic container for the gift.

With the crypto market on fire, I can see why some investors are shying away from the metals. With BTC, ETH and all of the other alt coins going parabolic, it's easy to see fast $$$ within weeks or a month. The metals market may get you 10-15% on an annual basis going forward. (With a few outlying years)

But we all do not purchase the physical metals for 100% year over year gains. They will always have inherent value and the look and feel of the metals is hard to explain to others that have never held or possessed a coin.

I'm anticipating a breakout year in 2018, the GDX and GDXJ should follow with higher yearly gains.

In 2013 I purchased 80 US silver Eagles for $35 apiece. Not the top but close! I thank will see $50 silver before we see $10 silver.

I purchased some around that level as well. I'm certain that you will easily double that price going forward. Keep stacking.

I'm wondering if eventually one day I'll have to take a loss on these silver Eagles. I don't know if I want my money tied up in silver coins over the next 10 years. But who knows there could be some sort of economic disturbance that could increase the value of gold And silver dramatically.

Your totally right man, Silver is way undervalued. I'm so torn about hoping it rises. I have lots and it's great if it does, but I just want to buy so much more at these bargain prices.

I know for a fact that when Silver is >$20 an ounce with solid support, everyone interested in these types of coins will be kicking themselves for not loading up at $16.

Silver Eagles are always good! better than money in the bank :)

For sure, 'money' in the bank is just digits on a computer screen, or pieces of crap paper when you withdraw...

I agree its a good time to buy in, and I think silver Eagles are a good choice too. BTW I found your post by RayBrockman resteeming it, and also from the #steemsilvergold tag. Followed and Upvoted!

Thanks for the insight, looks like Ray is a 'regular' here... I'm a newb since July.

I am torn between Rounds vs Eagles. Buy back price vs extra premium for Govt. bullion coins? More ounces for less money and higher buyback or more money for the same ounces with loss of premium when selling?

I think in general, the US Silver Eagles hold a higher premium because of the quality. You can go around the world and sell it. If you take a one ounce XYZ silver coin, some people may have doubts about the content of the silver or even if there is a lead slug inside...

Love stacking ASEs! Getting a little more into "generic" silver, but overall I prefer the government issued stuff from around the world.
Definitely a long term position and there's just a good feeling that comes from having physical precious metals around!

Can't go wrong sticking with the gov issued high quality rounds. I find that most have a pretty design.
