The 1964 Canadian silver dollar was to celebrate the 100th year anniversary of the Charlottetown Conference in 1864, which led to the Confederation that formed the modern basis of Canada (I think - I could be wrong).

I got a bunch of these, sealed by the Royal Canadian Mint. They are pretty nice looking coins!
Instead of the voyageur coin in those periods, the 1964 has an unique year design. The circular emblem on the reverse features the French fleur-de-lis, the Irish shamrock, the Scottish thistle and the English rose.
The reverse shows the British Queen Elizabeth at her then age, quite a babe then!
These are sealed by the Royal Canadian Mint, and you can see the edge of the seals burned with the name across 3 sides. However, the coins within still could tarnish, and some of mine has some spots/areas.
I like these coins because of the standardized 0.6 oz silver (80% silver) content among other reasons, but these are really pretty and keep their shine! (although some have tarnish - not entire sealed, I guess). I consider these have more numismatic value due the mint seals and keep their shine, but part of my stack!!
Check out my earlier post on why I like the Canadian 'junk' silver dollars:
