lets go back to memory lane, i wanna here about your first silver coin or old coin you have every purchased. the history behind your collecting of silver coins, i would really like if you go in to detail of how old you where and your reasons why.. and as well show your first coin ever collected..im sure a lot of people have that prized possession piece of theirs as a first coin trophy...
here is my story and my first coin i ever got..i know ive shown theses before in my past blog.. but they where my first ever
When i was 18 years old, i use to be on the internet 24/7... i loved researching about different stuff, and just knowing things when it came to history and as well the business world of making money in the stocks and that.. i use to look at every way to invest my money i had saved up. At that time i had moved from south Africa to stay in Qatar for my studies. So felt the best way was to invest in precious metals since i could it and keep my own investments, i began to look on Qatar forums where i could buy silver coins. I had than spoken to an american guy and he had said he would take me to a place called Qgold, a company based in Dubai, but had a branch in Qatar.. long story short i met up with the older guy, who went by the name Russell and he had taken me to the dealer, the only problem was that i needed my passport since i wasn't a Qatari national, and to prove i wasn't supporting terrorist groups... so he suggested he would buy it for me this time and the dealer was fine with it since they saw i was only 18 and it was my first time buying silver, that is why the certificate is in his name.. so that is how i got my first silver coin... i had bought two 1 oz of silver, i feel it was bit overpriced that time i had got it, but it was my first valuable coin i was happy
if you can see but the casings are wounded from travelling around, country to country, i always take my coins with me where ever i go.. they remind me where i've been and as well how far i've come in life
feel free to tell speak about your story either in a post or or in the comment section, of your first ever coin you have gotten

I am a Brazilian and I was in Miami on vacation, about 1980. I was ambling , saw a LCS and decided to go there. It was my first LCS. Inside I spent a few minutes looking at several coins and one of them caught my attention. It was a Canadian Dollar showing a cowboy taming a horse (1975 Calgary). I paid U$15 for it. At that moment I got hooked.
wow nice one buddy, sounds like a true romantic love story hahaha, i didnt know the coin so i googled it, it looks really neat... thanks for the comment

The first silver I purchased came from a long discussion with Phil (phelimint) while on assignment in northern ontario. It was early spring 2014, he had a friend who was big into precious metals and had shared his beliefs about stacking for wealth and preparedness. This resonated with the both of us and from that moment on our lives were forever changed. It wasn't long after that we both made our first purchase, a considerable purchase. The day my package arrived and as I gazed upon my bounty I was immediately drawn to the physical characteristics of weight, color, texture - it was hook, line and sinker for this guy! I make a point to contribute regularly now, primarily focusing on collector items but conscious of overall weight.
My most memorable piece - there are many lol. The one that keeps coming to mind tho is a Canadian 50 cent silver piece that was my fathers. It was from his childhood "piggy bank", when he passed my mom gave it to me and will be something I will cherish forever.
i love collector coins as well, specially old coins, i really wana go deeper into it when it come to historic coins hahaha ... thanks for your story though buddy, that was really interesting to hear..aaaahhh and i know what you talking about when it come to setting your eyes on your first silver... its like a really strong attraction to your eyes...and you just want to continuously hold it

I think my first coin I bought was a Peace Dollar, but it was many years ago and I can't honestly remember 100%.
One of the first old coins I found was a wheat penny, that got me interested in coins but I never did much buying growing up.
