Bicentennial Sterling Silver Ingot - England Attempts to Control the Government of Massachusetts

in steemsilvergold •  6 years ago

Part 2 of the Bicentennial ingots I bought. Part 1 is here. This one is of a less famous event in the American Revolution. On May 20, 1774, England passed a couple of Acts that were aimed at undercutting the authority of the states' governments, specifically Massachusetts. This was part of the "Intolerable Acts" of 1774, which were meant as a punishment for the Boston Tea Party. A lot of drama involved in this revolution. I wonder how it will end? 😉

Well, this was the only other ingot in this series I was able to pick up, so you're on your own to read the rest of the history. This is ingot #4 in the series of 70. The front shows a scene of bureaucrats in London signing legislation.

The back is very similar to the other ingot.

Here's a close-up of the text on the back.

That is a really cool piece @methus! I don't remember learning about that in history class.

It’s like being back in Boston. I am super curios about the other SIXTY EIGHT bars now.

Wow history through silver who would have thought it. Looks like set to try and get me hands one 💯🐒
