Silver Coins from Around the World - Part 5

in steemsilvergold •  6 years ago

Today we've got two more coins from around the world that contain silver. First is an 1861 decimo from Chile.

This phrase translates to "By Reason or Force". Seems like a logical national motto. Especially when you realize that it's in reference to Chile's struggle for independence from Spain.

The back side has some punches in it. But what I find interesting is that these don't actually go through to the other side. There's got to be a story there. I wish I know what it was.

Next we have an 1865 British shilling. Nothing too exciting here, but I just love old, worn coins. Especially silver ones.

Love that chillean coin. I love Chile as well. .. well, I love South America in general. My plan is to retire in Chile or Peru.

Well, worn they are.
