Souvenirs from Memphis

On my recent trip to Memphis, I didn't buy too much. Just a couple of things to remember the trip. Most of what I bought was food, of which there was plenty and it was all good.

  1. A TCB luggage tag

  2. A souvenir coin from Graceland

  3. Some colorized Elvis halves

The luggage tag was a practical purchase. I needed one because mine got broken off somehow during gate check on the way down. Plus, this way, now when I go through the airport with my carry-on, everyone will know I'm Taking Care of Business in a Flash. It's how I always roll, but now everyone will know about it. They didn't have any "I'M #1" hats, so I went with the luggage tag instead.

The souvenir Graceland coin is nothing too spectacular. There was a big bin of them, you put your money in and one came out. I got one for each of the kids too.

As you can see, it's pretty dinged up, but there's the TCB logo again on the back.

Lastly are the colorized halves. These are produced by Mystic Stamp in NY. They are Kennedy half dollars that have been overlaid with various designs. This company has produced tons of different versions of these, commemorating Elvis' songs, movies, and career milestones. These were given to me by the friends we were staying with. They weren't sure where they got them, and were happy to give them to me once they heard I was into coins.

So, I came away from my trip with a couple of nice little keepsakes.
