The obverse of this coin features the Mexican National arms in the middle with legend "ESTADOS UNIDOS MEXICANOS" around the upper portion of the coin . PESO 27 7/9 G Ley 0.720 CINCO PESOS Mo 1953 are all written under the arms .

The reverse of our coin today shows us a bust of the Mexican Hero Hidalgo who is facing to the left and surrounded by a Laurel Wreath .
