Whats the best silver? Local I say

in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago  (edited)

Made another trip to my local dealer today.

He has kinda been struggling over the past couple of weeks. His inventory seems to be running very low. Only thing I can figure is no one is want to sell. Anyways I was able to pick up a couple of things that where really a good buy.

1st up 5 oz sunshine bar. This is one of the new ones with the security features. Got this one for .60cents over spot.

Of course those are my two pocket silver rounds for proof thats its me.

Next up silvertowne stackable 1 oz rounds. Really like these, they stack very well. These where priced at 65 cents over spot.

So all in all another 10 oz added. Thanks for the visit

I agree. I love picking up some local. I also have made some good trades locally as well. Always nice to see fellow stackers on here. Followed and Upvoted.

Appreciate that my friend. Keep stacking.

The 5oz bars are awesome. Perfect size for when Ag hits $100 :) i have been collecting 5oz'ers for quite some time but don't have one of those. The new back is fancy!
Thanks for the share Ray, i will haul mine out for pics when i do an intro to this group in the upcoming days. (Also, i like that you have id in your photos -- great idea -- i had wondered what those rounds were in another post.)

Thanks my friend, for a brief period, I went through this stage in my stacking, where i thought that i could pour my own. Well as you can see i wasn't ver good at it. Thanks for the comment.

Nice one Ray.
Good advice and nice silver.
Keep in stacking dude
@tremendospercy

Having physical silver makes me feel rich! Those coins are sweet! I started off buying the bars and got into the artistic coins just for fun. I felt the bars were boring. Keep stacking bro!

I have some coins, I do perfer bars myself. Thanks for the comment.

It can be really hard to find a steady solid PM dealer. I can usually find a good score at one of my 3 favorite coin / pawn shops!

I enjoy shopping my local dealer, but with prices so low latley he doesn't seem to have a big selection any more. Thanks for the visit and comment.

nice pieces

Thanks my friend.

Beauty.....stacking and waiting... :-)

Thats right,,, and I can wait.

Nice pickups! Makes want to run to my local shop and see what they have.

You should, its a good day to buy. Keep stacking my friend

That's what I'm talking about!
It's my weakness, I know I need to get the ball rolling here with steem and crypto, and I will, but how can you NOT buy silver at these prices??!!?!!

Amen to that brother.

I love the bars sunshine mint produces!! I don't have any of the 5 ouncers! They sure are pretty! Keep on stackin'!

Thanks my friend

Ty for showing your new adds. I just joined and I'm excited about this gold and silver part

Welcome to sttemit my friend. You will find alot of good stackers here. You should think about joining the steemsilvergold group.

How do I join? I've been uploading posts w that tag..

60 cents over spot is GREAT! I see this online, but my local shops are at $2 over spot. What city is this in? and Is there a lot of competition causing the low premium price?

Welcome to steemit. Cant tell you my city, and no there is not alot of competition. Probably not alot of sales either.

That's cool about the city, I understand. Thanks for the welcome. I am finding some good deals too, just not that low . . . 60 cents is Great!

I prefer local and under the radar shops. But inventory has been on the small side lately. And it's a combination of fewer sellers and an increase in foot traffic looking to purchase the shiny stuff. Keep on stackin'!

I think you may be right. Thanks for the visit and comment

It's all good, cheers

It sure is my friend

I wish I had a local shop to go to! Nice adds, you got a great price! Thanks for sharing 👍

I like the sunshine mint bar! I have a 1 oz sunshine bar but you got that 5 oz at a great price!

Awesome pick up! I have one of the 5 oz sunshines. How much did you get that piece for?

$87.00, I do not have many 5oz bars, couldnt pass this one up though, thanks for the visit my friend. Keep stacking.

Two thumbs up! Good price!

What a bargain!

$87 and you feel like a playa in Casino Royale

.60 over spot, wowzers, thats super!

Boy, did I luck out. A reputable coin shop opened within a mile of my house. It is in a busy shopping area, high volume, so usually there are coins galore. But yes, sometimes, a slack inventory in, near spot price, junk, 90%, .999 rounds, etc... Someone will come in and buy the entire store's low end inventory. That's a drag, but it does not take long for him to restock. Get to know your dealer.

So great to support local business. I really wish there was a dealer close to me, I love checking out all the little shops when I'm on the round, some really great people out there.

Unless it's the field trip that is so thrilling, I'd have to respectfully disagree.

I have made hundreds of purchases of Ag over the last 10+ years, the most I ever paid was local, in time I've accumulated over 2700 ounces of GENERIC ROUNDS.

Most people don't know the Sunshine mint is one that supplies the government for their Silver Eagles. So why buy local when you can buy directly from a quality controlled mint, that's what the Fed does... Then, just like locals, they take their cut and resell it to you at a significantly higher price.

  • No Bueno.

If you are a Vet, there are ever more substantial discounts available online, again, with all due respect, I think maybe you haven't discovered all your options. Best Regards.

Very nice pick. Yes this days everyone holding silver won't sell at today prices.

Just wait for few days.

My local area doesn't have or even offer anything near to what JM BULLION or APMEX has to offers as far as different choices of coins etc.. I order 100% online.

I've burned thru both those, the best deal online is Provident, especially
if you are a veteran, get wholesale rate any amount.

also, you SELL to apmex, you don't BUY from apmex. Remember that everyone...

Locally, I would be more afraid of FAKE Ag than anything, and if it feels too good to be true, well... it might be. Flea markets pawn shops all the same, buy from the mint, free shipping, and you know it's real, you can't beat that peace of mind. Plus, Dollar cost averaging, buying the dips - it's the only way.
