in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago

Found a great video that runs down the top ten Garage Sale items that "could" be sterling silver.

I was awakened to the opportunities that I have passed up just passing by a vendor at swap meets, yard sales or at a neighborhood garage sale.

I have overlooked many such items when I was looking at yard sales. Thank you for posting.

Thanks for the reply....Look for the Sterling label underneath or inside the item. Many times they place use Sterling or .925. Happy hunting

yea I can’t wait till summer gets here I love finding gems at garage sales.

Its like a dollar sale when you go to garage sales, Just takes time going through all the different neighborhoods. Good luck hunting

Time to go back to the yard sales!

I find it is best just to ask if they have any old coins to sell, most people today are living day to day and have coin collections they may be willing to part with.

Willing to part with and have absolutely no idea what it is even worth. I won't fully rob people blind but lots of people seem to think that if a coin says $5 it's only worth $5...

I have had the most garage sale luck with people having small hoards of junk silver stored in jars. They seem to know there is silver in coins minted prior to 1965, but have no concept about melt value and how many grams per coin relates to an price for an ounce of silver.......Happy hunting
