# 10 - Gold in Fractions

in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago

It is very easy to buy 1oz of silver. Almost everyone can do it.
What about gold ? 1oz of gold is much more expensive and very few can afford it.
So why don't we buy gold in small fractions ? I will show you now some very small fractions of gold, all bought on Ebay.
Some are officially minted, others are minted by private mints.

The first was a private mint commemoration of Europa 2000 (58.5%, 0.5g). The second was issed by the government of Liberia and commemorates the Pope John Paul II (58.5%, 0.5g, mintage 20,000). The third commemorates the foundation of a German soccer club, the Borussia Dortmund (private mint) (58.5%, 0.5g, mintage 9,999).
Sorry, but I could not remove the stain on the capsule.

For those who can spend a little more, here are three coins issued by Liberia commemorating three World Names : Friedrich v.Schiller, Mother Teresa and Albert Einstein. All are 99.9% gold, 0.73g with mintage 20,000 each.

Finally two rounds issued by private mints. I don't know what the first commemorate, but it is a 58.5% gold, 0.8g. The second commemorates Friedrich the Great, 58.5%gold, 1.56g, mintage 989.

So, what prevent us from having gold in our stack ?

I have noticed that few people comment. Why not comment ? It is the way to change ideas and, for me, to know what you are thinking about the articles.

Tomorrow we will talk about the Sacagawea Dollars.

That’s actually some great advice tbh , to buy fractions of gold, plus I would love to get one of those small coins they look incredible ... but the only thing with me is that I’m trying to save up for my gold King George sovereign , lol I don’t think they will make him in fractions hahaha

Only buy gold on Ebay from reputable dealers. There is a lot of gold fakes there...

Nice coins. I don't buy fractionals under 1/10 oz because of the high premiums.

That is right, but if you look very carefully on Ebay, you may find some opportunities...
