# 208 - 1999 Canadian Quarters in Nickel

in steemsilvergold •  6 years ago  (edited)

A few weeks ago, I showed you the 1999 RCM series commemorating the Millennium. These are all silver with purity of 92.5% and Proof finish.

I was asked then to post a picture of all together and I decided to make a new post not with them, but with their twin brothers.

Their twin brothers weight 5.05g, are made of nickel and have a Brilliant Uncirculated finish. The design is the same as the silver ones.

There is an extra medallion, seen on top center, only found inside this replica of a 1785 map of Canada. It has a Maple Leaf obverse.

It is a beautiful set. Is it expensive?

No, it costed around U$10.

Thank you for your continued support of SteemSilverGold

The Canadian mint had an office in downtown Vancouver when I worked worked clients in that area and I'd go there to exchange for free the latest nickel commemorative coins but you couldn't avoid seeing the big ticket wares.

RCM has an amazing portfolio, but the prices are too expensive. I just wait one or two years and I find most of the series that I want on Ebay, with prices sometimes cut to half the issue price.

I love the coins and their fancy display. RCM knows how to market their coins.

RCM is known for its prices and a good part of the premiums are due to the cases...

You have a minor misspelling in the following sentence:

A few weeks ago, I showed you the 1999 RCM series commemorating the Millenium.
It should be millennium instead of millenium.

Thank you.

Interesting blog :) You get an abduction and an observer.

Was I abducted? When and by whom?
