Mexico’s Silver Libertad was first struck in a one ounce, bullion version in 1982. In 1991, the program expanded to include four fractional-weight coins. In 1996, the program was further expanded to offer two ounce and five ounce coins,
Today, Libertads are struck in seven weights in the bullion and proof versions, as well as a proof-like 1 kilo coin, and five weights in a gold version of the coin (proof and BU).
On the obverse side of this 1985 1 oz Silver Mexican Libertad coin is the image of the angel of independence. She is featured striding forward confidently, with a crown wreath held aloft in her right hand, and the broken chains of Spanish rule in her left hand. The “MO” mint mark is engraved on this side, along with the coin’s face value, metal content, purity, and date
The reverse side off each coin bears the coat of arms of Mexico. With a bald eagle perched atop a cactus branch, the official seal of Mexico includes the engraving “Estados Unidos Mexicanos.” Translated into English, this phrase means “United Mexican States.”
The Mexican Mint is one of the oldest in the world, having been established by Spanish conquistadors in 1535. Today, it produces the Silver Mexican Libertad under the guidance of Banco de Mexico.
2016 1 oz Mexican Silver Libertad Coin

What a great post, that's a ton of interesting information! My only Mexican silver is 2 1985 libertads and even though they're old they're still beautiful! I love the design of the current one, as well! Thanks for sharing 👍

Maybe you could ask everyone to do a response video with a piece of their Mexican and ask them to maybe explain it, the silver content, notable things like that? Haha, either way you did a great job putting that together and I'm looking forward to that video!

Great stuff as with any of my gaw only current subs can enter not some ploy to get more subs.. I prefer it to grow organically for the content not the gaws. So no shout outs

Yep you'll be in. anyone subbed before i do the gaw video.guess it is more to give a little back to the people who watch my vids and it may not have gaw in the title or it might.... not decided yet. as not everyone can watch everything all the time and i'd hate for a good follower to miss the chance to enter.
I'm sure whatever most people like to see coins and i bet the 2 1985's look different where as 2 more modern one's really wouldn't. look forward to seeing them. hopefully it not raining tommorow so i can get some natural light or it will have to be at night. hopefully get it all edited by friday. but right now summer hols and kids off school crazyness in the daytime..
