USA 1976 Proof 40% silver Kennedy Half Dollar BICENTENNIAL UNC
- Mintage: 11,000,000 Minted at: San Francisco
- Designer - Engraver: Seth G Huntington Metal
- Composition: 40% Silver - 60% Copper
- Diameter: 30.6 mm Mass / Weight: 11.5 grams
The bicentennial Kennedy Half Dollar features a 1776-1976 date on the obverse and a portrait of Philadelphia Pennsylvania's Independence Hall with the words "200 YEARS OF FREEDOM" on the reverse of the coin to celebrate the 200th anniversary of the United States of America. This coin was produced in both years of 1975 through 1976 so there were no 1975 coins.
This particular version is the special 40% silver Mint Edition of the Bicentennial Half Dollar. Proof silver coins with a mirror-like surface.
This is my very first one of this kind of coins and I have a few others coming.
I think @silversaver888 is the one who I seen share most of this kinds of coins.

The JFK coins are beautifully designed coins, and it depicts a well-loved US President. It is so popular here in the US. So glad to see that you have a proof. I see that the mint mark is S for the San Francisco mint. That is indeed 40%, the other 1976 are clad (I think... not too sure now). I love it you are taking to liking coins, my sweet stacking sis!
