Why do they always use a Gold coin to represent a Bitcoin?

Why is it a common practice to display a picture of a GOLD coin when they are talking about Bitcoin?

How about a Gold and Silver Bitcoin.

Is this a subliminal message to say Bitcoin is as good as GOLD?
I don't see anyone representing GOLD with a Bitcoin!

I think thats been the idea from the beginning. That Bitcoin is considered the Gold of Cryptocurrency, and Litecoin is the Silver of Cryptocurrency. Thats how Charlie Lee has always defined the two, and he has always said that Bitcoin will be used for your large transactions like buying a car, or a house, or for corporations to transact large amounts, while Litecoin will be used for your everyday small transactions like grocery shopping, burgers & fries etc.

More like 1 btc will buy you a house and 1 ltc will buy you a car. If it continues to surge in price :)

The way the governments are printing paper, we will be buying houses with seashells soon, cheers.

Yup. What is going to be more worthless than papermoney? Grains of sand perhaps? Ill have a burger pls. Thatll be 50000000 planktons.

I think any wealth you may have should be stored in anything other than this filthy corrupt paper so called money, cheers my friend.

Check ;)

So I wonder what colour the other 5 million altcoins will be! I find it weird how everything is as good as gold or it's a solid gold investment, but gold is a stupid thing to invest in, go figure. Thanks for the reply, cheers.

Bitcause Gold is made of Bitcoins?

Well that would be a tough job making one of them.

God made Gold. Alchemists made Bitcoin. They are trying to make you believe it's Gold. Any lucky Archimedes can proove it's not. And chopped off the heads will be, in China first.

Please elaborate.

FYI: Paper bills were first used by the Chinese, who started carrying folding money during the Tang Dynasty (A.D. 618-907) — mostly in the form of privately issued bills of credit or exchange notes — and used it for more than 500 years before the practice began to catch on in Europe in the 17th century. While it took another century or two for paper money to spread to the rest of the world, China was already going through a fairly advanced financial crisis: the production of paper notes had grown until their value plummeted, prompting inflation to soar. As a result, China eliminated paper money entirely in 1455 and wouldn't adopt it again for several hundred years. Another not-so-well-known fact: the word cash was originally used to describe the type of round bronze coins with square holes commonly used in the Tang Dynasty, called kai-yuans. It's OK to mine Bitcoins and send the shit to whoever wants it, isn't it. In fact, I demand I know where my BTC were mined, if they come from China, they can go and get fucked! I demand a new Hard Fork with a location of origin ammendment included. Haaaaaaaa ha ha haaaaaa!!! Ya Chinese Scum...

Haha, this is funny.

But also very curious, what do you think?

Bitcoin is weird.

Thanks

Well, I think a holographic representation would be cool - but we have to wait for VR I guess?

A holographic representation is still more physical than a crypto, cheers.

You find this illusion in all "FIAT" currencies. The 2 Euro, silver outline, gold insert. The 1 Euro, Gold outside, silver inside. All countries make their coins Look like the REAL thing, but their NOT. Keeping stacking, go get you some.

So everything is as good as gold, except for gold, it's worthless crap, cheers.

It is funny that a Bitcoin is way more worth than a gold coin.

Is the Bitcoins value determined by a worthless piece of paper, the US$!

Actually, the BitCoin on the top of the page is Copper...
It seems to be the one most used... I have a bunch of them...

I was talking more about the colour of the coin not what metal it's made from, but you are correct even copper coins have some intrinsic value. Thanks for the reply my friend, cheers.

I agree with you.
This could be misleading to some people.
