This is a round up of some of my earlier Silver Shield purchases, before I was a member of the group. I have tried to include a little background on each design as well as showcasing the coins in my original photo’s. Silver Shield designs usually incorporate a strong message underlying the design on the coin. This is something that really appealed to me when I first discovered them and I have been hooked ever since. Enjoy!
This design was one of Chris Duane’s labour of love. He enlisted the help of multiple artists, one of which was renowned for his portrayals of super hero’s, to get this design just right.
The design shows an ancient Argyraspides warrior, brandishing his silver shield against the onslaught of flames, which represent the lies and corruption of the world.
As a silver stacker, it reminds us to stand strong in the fight against the manipulators and corruptors of the silver market. It tells us to raise our shields, to stand and fight the good fight and remember what got us here in the first place.
This design was crafted by the the popular Heidi Wastweet. Heidi has contributed to many of the Silver Shield designs and is the artist behind some of Silver Shields most popular and famous designs.
This was designed with the intention of replacing the Silver Shield “BITCON” design as the Silver Shield BU of choice to stack. The design speaks for itself, showcasing the silver bull that we as stackers are all waiting to see. The sculpt looks great, I quite like the BU finish, and there is an AG at the bottom (just so we don't confuse it as a gold bull).
The Truth Justice Peace design has its roots based in the truth movement. It commemorates Ken O’Keefe (you can see his signature on the COA) who is a powerful advocate for the truth movement.
He was a former marine that renounced his American citizenship in 2000, prior to 9/11. He acted as a human shield in the second gulf war, physically detained 3 Israeli commandos and has been seen imparting his truth on most major to networks.
The message is just as important now as it has been in previous years. What we need is Truth, Justice and Peace to enact change in this disastrous economic experiment and to turn it all around.
This Silver Shield design is a look at what Christmas has now become. Lost is the message of hope and birth of Jesus, replaced instead with the depressing Consumerism Santa.
The Christmas consumerism is pushed onto the public, applying peer and social pressure to conform and to buy things we don't really need and to pay for it with cash we don't really own!
You can see the representation of the Rothschild family with the arrows on Santa’s belt buckle. He holds shackle chains in one hand and the never ending Slave Card in the other hand.
Freedom Girl is probably one of Silver Shields most well known, easily recognisable and most popular designs. It is also one design that Silver Shield managed to mint in Gold. It is known for positive reasons, but also a couple of negative ones.
The negative reasons revolve around the split of Silver Shield from Silver Shield Silver Bullet. Dies were stolen and coins were minted without agreement of the artist and owner of the designs and as such, there are quite a few not so original Freedom Girls out there. As far as I know the non Silver Shield Freedom Girls (minted by R.G.) are still fine silver, it is just an issue over the rights. This is quite a long story that I wont get into now.
As far as the more popular reasons this coin is ‘famous’ go ….well ….. just look at it …. It’s BEAUTIFUL! Haha.
The design is a remodelling of the Peace Dollar by Heidi Wastweet. Although in this design Liberty has lost her large tiara and let down the bun in her hair.
The seductiveness of freedom is reflected in Freedom Girls slight seducing smile, her long flowing untamed hair and a fashionable hoop earring in her ear. A trivium tattoo can be seen on her shoulder, which is gently arched forward and a dreamy stare is seen in her eyes.
This is a beautiful design with a truly timeless image of freedom displayed in all it’s silver (or gold) glory. I am sure most stackers have laid eyes on one of these beauties at least once in their silver lifetime!

My steemsilvergold Introduction
Great post as usual @silvernova!! I love that you got some reflected colour on some of your coins !!! Really effective. The background stories on these coins really make a difference when you look at them. I especially like the story of the Consumerism Santa, because it is so true!! Thanks again for an epic post.

Chris has started selling his BU direct to the public if you are in the US, if not you will have to wit until Golden State Mint has international shipping. They don't have the large premium like the proofs ...... but the proofs are soooo pretty!!

Thanks @goldenarms , they are very nice rounds indeed. I have a second part to this shoot, but didn't want to make this post too long. The next few are slightly political but some great designs.
Heidi is fantastic, that is so cool that you have a signed piece AND a lil message as well....... jealous much!! Now you just need a gold Freedom Girl to go with that collection!

Yea it's great having a collection of coins that tell a story or convey a message. It is very under rated as an art form!

I love the silver shield rounds, I'm a huge collector of them as well. Freedoms girl is of course and all time favorite. And the crucible is a recent favorite as well. I love how they are all thoughtful and some background and deeper meaning

Cool man, I might see you over in the Silver Shield Group Forum some time soon. The premiums are a bit higher for the proofs, but they are such low mintage and awesome coins it can be worth it. Especially for getting the Two and Five ounce releases.

Love Chros Duane's work and Silver Shield Collection.
Sadly they cost a pretty premium here in the UK so I only own one.

I understand, I am in New Zealand and pay a large premium on shipping to get them here. I know a few guys in the SSG who ship them to the UK and yea the import tax is ridiculous!! Stay tuned here if you want to see more, as I will be showcasing many more Silver Shield coins from my collection
