Although these are vintage coins made by the Mexico mint, they are not worth much. They used to be minted in silver, but these ones are copper-nickel.

Because i collected coins since i was a kid whenever any of my relatives or friends went away they always brought me back coins. I had a huge shoe box of them. I went through them a while back when my daughter was young. I pulled out anything worth something then let my daughter pick any she liked. I sold the box of coins for $50 to get rid of them.
I don’t have space for stuff like that.
They are cool to look at though.
I only have a small handful of non silver or gold coins.

It is sad that circulating coins are no longer in silver. It is interesting that Mexico stopped producing these in silver ten years after the US stopped minting silver coins for circulation. Is my information correct? I really have not put so much thought into it.

I think its longer then that. I have a 1978 silver coin from Mexico. I think they just started reducing the amount of silver in them.

I love mostly US coinage, and a favorite non silver coin of mine are the Buffalo Nickels! I also love the Ike Dollars, and I keep any Ikes that I come across, in addition to any Susan B Anthony Dollars and the Sacagawea Dollars. Oh yeah, I have a tube of War Nickels too... which have silver in them.

I also have plastic strips of the non Silver and copper coins, I thought about a post, but with the coins in old plastic I can't get good photo's...and I hate to tear them open.....

There are many coins in that box... I haven’t gone through them for a couple of years. I know I have several world coins in there. I’ll show a couple more tomorrow. Thanks for appreciating even the non-silver coins. My favorite US coinage that is not silver is the Buffalo Nickels. I think they one of our best designed coin. Then I also have a tube of War Nickels... those have some silver in them.
