However, while floating around eBay last week, I came across these beauties……
…and I just had to have them.

Walking Libertys in this condition are not that easy to find. Walking Libs were minted between 1916-1947. Even though they were replaced by the Franklin Half Dollar in 1948, Walking Libs remained in circulation for many years after the end of their line. Also, they were heavily circulated. Back then, they were used in everyday commerce much more frequently than they are today (keep in mind that in 1948, the minimum wage was about 40 cents an hour).
This is what a typical Walking Liberty in circulated condition looks like.
Now you can see why I snapped these babies up!!!
