My childhood love of toys turned into The Building Block of Wealth

in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago  (edited)

When I was a kid I loved toys and cartoons. My favorite cartoons were; He-man, G.I. Joe, Transformers, and loony toons. And my toys of choice were Star Wars figures, Erector Sets, and Legos!

Now that I have two young boys who are into some of the same toys I played with. I have all kinds of things to cast into silver if I wanted. My mind started racing and I was tossing and turning in bed one night trying to think of a signature piece I could call my own, and then it hit me. I love stacking; silver, food, and ammunition. So when I thought I could combine silver with stacking I came up with the silver Building Block of Wealth! 7797ADD9-D094-40C7-BADF-B4B2847886A2.jpeg

I finally got my furnace back so I could start pouring again. That’s a story for another time.
First thing I had to do was clean up my pouring bench and test out my rebuilt furnace DBA07AE7-594C-422A-BA5C-670C68601EB9.jpeg
Next thing to do is get the clay, rings , and all the other miscellaneous tools of the trade ACA3C08C-E17D-4DB0-8D6A-906E27DED563.jpeg
Once the first ring has been filled. You can push the mold into the clay to get the top impression of the block. 55E2E276-9382-4B8E-A098-A89474614E88.jpegNext add the second ring to the first ring and fill the rest of the mold. Once you pull them apart you have an indentation of the top and bottom sides of the block 828FE0BC-504B-48D4-BB1A-58A50403C1B6.jpeg
Once the mold is put back together and the chamber is hollowed out it’s time for the silver! 2551F8CB-FC86-497A-A485-DB3980786AB2.png
Looks like a successful pour. A3D94C00-D9EF-4C7A-987E-3B219852461F.jpeg
Now a quick quench 65E63C09-02BE-4B44-8950-EDE3B6BBF4F3.jpeg you can see the sprew. It’s the wedge looking peice on the bottom side of the block9BAC1378-5C77-422F-80A5-DE0282B6F281.jpeg C3111D67-E90C-4BBE-B5BD-9AEB42774755.jpeg and now after some sanding they will be ready for the next stage DD71A994-212E-49AC-A2C3-176CCBBBFE47.jpeg I have always been a fan of side stamping on coins. So when I thought about the stamping process I had and ideaA0A6F534-F3CE-45F1-AAE4-B6391A7FAB2F.jpeg the block has four flat sides, so I thought I should stamp around the whole barAA75E2FA-8DD5-49FF-BAC8-69DC8D600F06.jpeg E2FD5AC9-6268-44AB-9562-097149714DD0.jpeg we’re getting close to the end of the process.
One final bath before we packAGe it up and send it to its final destination. 935A9EA3-A928-497B-B52E-1C0D877569EF.jpegThe next out going packAGe will be for Ray Brockman! So as you can see it’s quite a process to make this silver art. And sometimes the pour isn’t right or the mold sucked so you have to start all over. But when a guy is productive anything can happen 4FF43252-6122-4CCE-9E50-833031FE9B32.jpeg

Thank you Pa! I am really finding my groove I think. This way the people’s can actually see the process of the pieces that they want! 👍🏼🍺🥓

I love watching the process of a masterpeice. So much time and effort goes into making each one

I appreciate the fact you can see the hard work that goes into those! Every pour, every mold, has to be done over and over again. I love teaching or showing people how to do things! Thank you for stopping bye and commenting 👍🏼🍺🥓

Great post man. It's nice to get a look inside the shop ;-)

Thank you! The hard part about living in the northern states is that you can’t do all of your pouring outside. So it works out nice having the window in the van there to help get rid of the smoke.

We love our Building Blocks of Wealth!! Great post!

Thank you Ma! I believe you and Pa have the biggest collection of BBOW so Far! 👍🏼🍺🥓

Now those cool little LEGO blocks make stacking child’s play. Love em
#keeponstacking #keeponsteeming

I think of them like the shredded wheat commercial stacking them is healthy for the adult in me to help brain function. But the kid in me loves it because it brings me back to my childhood! 👍🏼🍺🥓

Love them Legos. I need to get me some.. Good job!

Thank you brother! Now that I got my furnace back I am going to go crazy making Legos! Your on the list brother! 👍🏼🍺🥓

Great post man, this will be something I can refer back to for some edumacation!😁

Thank you brother! I just got your address and your awesome piece of silver from Gold Bear Bunny will be in the Mail! 👍🏼🍺🥓

These things are sweet. Awesome job! I like that ar15 too.

Thanks brother. The M16 m203 grenade launcher is for Blue Light Bandit! Small 3/4 ounce keychain the gold bear bunny bought for him! 👍🏼🍺🥓

That's awesome he's a good guy. I talk to him on steemit from time to time. He's one of the only other gun guys in know lol you can find him @bluelightbandit

Oh yeh! He’s on my radar! I am hoping to get it out to him Monday

Aww man, I've always loved these in YouTube too, now that I'm seeing all this amazing stuff again I'm gonna have to actually get off my ass and buy some stuff.

We might even be able to work out some trades for some of your guys awesome rounds that your making! They made their start on YouTube but they will make their place in destiny on steemit! Thank you my friend 👍🏼🍺🥓

Okay let's do it man! I need some lego and sure you have some other amazing stuff as well. Not sure if your in discord, if not my email is fine too, [email protected]

the lego bricks are in the top 2 coolest poured items i have seen.
how much do they weigh each?

Thank you brother! I love the idea behind them, they’re silver, they’re stackable, and the Legos remind me of my childhood. They weigh between 38-39 grams and are $34 dollars each! That price includeds shipping in the U.S.A. International and Canada are $10-15 dollars more because postage is expensive. So it helps to order a few and then the shipping is still the same but you get more silver and so the shipping isn’t as bad then.

If you need other brick sizes to make molds from let me know i think i have one of every size and would happily donate them to you.

Just an idea but with a drill press you could drill out the 3 circles at the bottom till it weighed a perfect troy ounce.
:D

Looks like ima be saving up some sbd to buy one soon.
lol

I just love those Lego bars of wealth!! I do plan on getting a few myself. I also like that M16 with that M203 Grenade launcher! You do some great work brother!

Thank you my brother!! I am so excited to have a signature piece and they are really getting good. Like they say practice, practice, practice!! Thank you for your support and your friendship!👍🏼🍺🥓

I'm loving these legos. Really brings me back to my childhood and would love to be able to get a bunch of those and create a lego silver stack wall.

That is exactly what I was thinking when I don’t need to play around with the Legos. I loved playing with Legos when I was a kid and my boys both love playing with Legos. And anybody in the steemsilvergold community will love playing with silver ones as well. Thank you for stopping and commenting my friend! 👍🏼🍺🥓

That is such a cool idea, to join them together like that in order to stamp them, it helps prevent the warping too!
You have my admiration Stackin'!!😊
You already know I'm a huge fan of your building blocks!💕 good job pal! 😆👍

It was so cool to see my BBOW in the background of your last video! I am as big of a fan if you as you are of me! I’m super excited to do a trade with you someday! Thank you my friend 👍🏼🍺🥓

I had to keep the 'family' together so the Vulcans now sit right next to your BBoWs! 😆
I've been trying out some stuff hopefully I will get a piece I'm happy to trade with, in the meantime I'll keep at it! Thanks for all your support Stackin' you've really helped me join this great community and I'm so pleased to call you a pal!😆👍💕

Awesome post I can’t wait to pour some silver this summer

It’s always more fun to pour in the summer that is for sure. Our winters are so damn long here that we have to learn how to pour in cold conditions. 👍🏼🍺😂

Great post @stackinag47! There is a lot of work going into each of those little blocks!
Congrats on winning the member of the week! You deserve it!

I feel honored to be nominated by such a great community member. I love the fact steemsilvergold is here for real stackers to unite under one banner! I will try to keep putting out good content for the community to read. The Metals mafia is here to stay!!👍🏼🍺🥓

Keep up the great posts man, love them all. Ray is going to hit you with some big upvotes!

Oh my goodness... those are so awesome!!!!!! I wish i had talent like that!!!

Really enjoyed seeing the whole process documented & the pieces are great. I particularly liked the Lego. Upvoted & following.

Im gonna have one of those legos some day!

Awesome post showing the process of making the building blocks of wealth.

I absolutely love this! There is a mint here in Oregon called Monarch Precious metals that presses their own version of silver Legos, I love your poured version also... I wonder if they would stack together...
