There ain't no such thing as a free lunch... - R. A. Heinlein
Buckle up for a little bit of a motivational/reality check post (for myself as much as anyone else)... This this is what is on my mind and has been for a few days...
Want more of this?
Work for it... Save up, find means to make extra cash... Do the work. Build a relationship with your local coin shop, maybe you'll be able to get better deals. Build relationships on Instagram or Steemit, often times people sell for close to or at spot on both platforms.
Want more/better upvotes, comments, and support for your posts?
Work for it... Post interesting content, engage with people, don't beg, don't whine about post payout discrepancies... Do the work.
Comment, share your thoughts on their posts and then craft your posts to encourage engagement. Don't get much response on one kind of post? Try something else, mix it up.
One of the so-called definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result. If you don't like the response you're getting, then try something other than the same old song and dance!
Steemit, and life for that matter, is all about investing your time wisely. The post rewards and upvote might seem like it's free money, but it's not. You are investing your most precious commodity...time. Something we all have the same amount of everyday regardless of dollar value in the bank or in your steemit wallet.
Steemit is a level playing field on that front... Yes some might have more disposable income allowing them to buy STEEM to increase their SP or they've been here since the beginning and became whales with ease, but don't be jealous, instead know that you can get there too, you just might have to work harder.
In the end, I think Steemit is supposed to be fun and educational, it just has the bonus of being a potential form of income also... But only if you do the work!
Check out that 1918 Walking Liberty Half Dollar. It just turned 100 years old.

First thing I noticed when I first started is those with a lot more posts than me get much higher rewards. Ever since then I've been trying to comment more than most people on Steemit.
That hard work has paid off very well with the rise in Steem price recently.

Commenting is a huge part of it I think. You can write the best posts ever conceived by man, but if no one cares enough to read what you write it won't get any tractions. Commenting gives folks the impetus to at very least check out your page and hopefully end up following!

Great article. Wanting something for nothing is what is wrong with our society if everyone worked hard and contributed our world would be so much better.

You hit the nail on the head. I think because some view STEEM as free money there is a sort of high level of people begging for upvotes and such here too, but it seems to have gotten a bit better over the past few weeks or maybe I'm just paying less attention, haha

that 'junk' silver be looking better and better every year - 2018 may be the year they drop the junk word and use '47' instead. May the 47(forsen?) be with you..

Quality posts and making good friends, I think that’s a good role, plus there are a lot of nice people on steem, who will help out and that..

Very very true, it definitely helps to have someone take you under their wing for a little while, but to even get noticed by those kinds of awesome folks the same rules apply... Do the work and the rest will come!

Nice tips man. I will never whine about a payout. If your not getting what you want then you have to switch it up. That goes well with anything in life. I have been doing my best to make quality posts around here and it seems to be working slowly but surely for me 😊

It is definitely a slow roll! But if/when Steemit sees the levels of use of say facebook or instagram it will all be worth it as we will be the early adopters and well established on here.
