Thanks to this post I did some research and learned about a whole substory regarding the 1933 Double Eagles! Very interesting stuff... There are only 13 known 1933 eagles in existence!
Cool copy and thanks for the impetus to learn some more about coin history!

Thank You @stnwllstrtgc that is a nice compliment and the perfect reason to be on STEEMIT and to encourage others to Bring VALUE to the Table.................

And Also: 1875 S double Eagle obverse.jpg

@underground They are only Copy's and they are 1 Oz. Silver Rounds Electroplated in Gold.

I detected a little "tongue in cheek" but I am too tired to actually think of a creative response LOL

😋 😎

OK:

When was it illegal to own gold in the US?
It had been illegal to own gold in the United States from 1933-1974, without a license. It has been legal since 1975. Its been legal for most of Human History it was illegal at one time in America from 1933 to 1974. But Since '74 you can buy all the Gold you want.

In 1933 they were illegal. Today they aren't. .. unless those are counterfiet.

@silversaver888 You know when @pit-bullion does his thing with Gold Plating ? I think you get the idea.........

.

@gnarlyanimations 1933 Double Eagles are shrouded in Controversy. But these Two Aren't since they are 1 Oz. Silver Rounds that are copies of the 1933 St. Gaudens Design............

Melt 'em down... no wait, send them to me and I'll keep them safe for you.

@sbsparts I can sell them to you for SBD but I can't just send them to you, although I know you would keep them safe...................

Run away, run away!😂🤣

"Shit Happens"

Fun fact: King Farouk of Egypt had one of these at one point.

Yes, the one that Sold at Auction for the final sale price to $7,590,020.00, almost twice the previous record for a coin.[

My friend, if the Secret Service knows or suspects that you have a 1933 St Gaudens, you are facing a very nasty encounter...

Lock the Door, Call the COPS !!!

No matter if illegally, take it for yourself! Viva la revolución

I don't know much about coins, but these are beautiful!
