I know it's been a while but lemme show off my #MONSTERRAFFLE4 prize pack from @edthecanadian!

It came in some sort of a bank bag!?

I love that Canadian coinage.

He also tossed in a "twoney" (two dollar coin) because 8 made a joke about them to him

Then he tossed in, uh, one of these, I guess....

Baaaahahahah, ok that's funny as hell but my question is why would a place that sells tires bother to print these coupons for ten cents off of TIRES!?

Lastly, he included some kick-ass signed hockey cards.

I love me some Mark Recchi! He was a freaking powerhouse! And Ed got these signed way back when too, so you know it's the real thing.

I haven't seen him around for a bit but incase he's lurking I'll just say

Thanks @edthecanadian!

Very awesome. Its traditional to save your Canadian Tire money, then go buy something frivolous with a 5" stack of bills. It holds up the check out line for hours!

Bullets ain't free! But sometimes they do!

Baaahahah, I get it now @fat-elvis, I thought it was a coupon but it's more like currency where you save it up and spend it. Thanks for the info, I can imagine the vibes in line when the person at the register pulls out a wad of these. :)

Those Voyageur coins are my favorite of the Canadian Dollars. You can't beat some autographed cards, especially Hockey!

Yeah, I love the personal touch he added with the hockey cards. My favorite Canadian dollar is the one with the Native American totem on it, I think it's called a death dollar.

Congrats on this prize score, I had a wad of Canadian tire bucks one time and eventually used them but there is a Canadian tire note collecting club. Vintage, Mintage numbers, serial number collectors, replacements, errors, Etc. And they were made by the the Canadian Banknote company, the same company that makes some of our Canadian banknotes.

That explains why this feels like real currency. I thought it was awfully fancy for a 10 cent coupon but I get it now. Do they just give them away at random or do have to buy something? Like, how do people end up collecting a stack of these things? And do you have to buy tires with them? Thanks for all the info @kerrislravenhill!

One would get a %age of your purchase price back in CT dollars, then spend them against the balance of future purchases. Canadian tire no longer issues these but are now electronic credits on a Canadian Tire Dollars card or linked to their CTD Visa card/Mastercard.

PS - Canadian Tire sells....

Home goods! And tires? Like Bed Bath and Beyond, Sears and Midas “got together” and no one is quite sure who’s the baby daddy. 😂

shayne corson was a warrior! I liked the type of hockey he played!

Yes he was.
