Greetings Friends,
T’is another fine spring day here in good ol’ Vancouver, and thus another fine day to stack!
My morning routine began with blue skies, warm breeze, a good coffee and some luscious vegetation! Here’s me coffee and me pocket piece waking up the neighbourhood.
I got a little “discording” in and cracked some jokes with a few of the fellas — @pit-bullion had a great idea, but alas, the Ingot is getting pretty full up!
So i walked back to my “shore” home and checked in on Mrs. D, Charlie and the Silver Assassin, and all seemed well. Mrs. D was getting ready for work, Charlie was getting his Pirate on and Leon was chillin’ hard!
There’s a funny story about “Dude Chilling Park” that i’d like to tell ya’s all about. I think the park is called “Fairview Park” but a couple of years ago some hilarious prankster made up a genuine looking Vancouver Parks Board sign that said “Dude Chilling Park” and covered over the existing one. Well, it was such a hit with locals that the VPB actually made a real one and installed it at the very site!!! For a little over a year it remained, but i guess it was either repetitively stolen — or some old lady/man complained and the sign was restored to its original look. Anyway, it’s a bit of local lore that anyone with a sense of humour must certainly enjoy — and, as coincidence would have it, the park is just a couple blocks from J&M.
But i digress...
The Assassin was in fine form this day. We strode into J&M, Leon in my arms and armed to the hilt with secrets of the dark arts and a keen eye for some new shiny. We peeled off a freshly printed I.O.U. And made a good trade. 2 x generic, 1 x RCM “5 blessings coin” and 3 x pre-‘67 halfers. I bought the last one of the “girl queen” obverses, and two ‘65s to add to the stack. (Re: the 5 blessings coin. It’s not my fave, but i didn’t have one so thought: for a buck and a half more why not?
The Assassin was exhausted so i just let him snooze it...
I even got a little pocketchange back!!!
Another fine day of plundering and rolling with the apple of mine eye! I hope you're all out there kicking ass and taking no names!
Stay tuned for some updates on the present situation of “one up the other guy.” There’s some parcels going out this week that are sure to make a few of ya’s smile and say: Y’Arrr!!! Now that drunk pirate has gone and done it!!!
