2008 1 oz Austrian Silver Philharmonic Coin

in steemsilvergold •  7 years ago

Good afternoon, Steemians!

Today I'm showing you my 2008 1 ounce Austrian silver Phil harmonic coin. This is a coin that I picked up with the other items in my package a few days ago. I did a random year because it was the cheapest option with JM Bullion so it ended up being a 2008 Philharmonic.

This is not the first time I've owned Austrian Philharmonic silver coins. I used to have a whole roll or two rolls back before I sold all my silver stack in 2014 to be able to pay a down payment on my first house.

I really like the reverse of the coin with the Philharmonic building and do sounds pretty cool but I feel like it's a little generic looking to be honest. I do believe that this is one of the kind of cheaper European silver coins that you can get.

Anyway just a quick few pictures here. I hope you enjoy them. Thanks for stopping by, Steemians!

i like the phillies there quality and made by geiger :)

Cool I didn't know that :)

I also really like the design of the coin. I am buying a few every year. I think if EU falls apart and the EURO disappears these would be more rare and worth more.

Interesting take on the matter. Never thought about it like that!

nice coin

I very first silver order had x4 1 oz coins and there was a philly in there. Very nice coin, i think the only 1 i have in euro's also. Smart move to sell off some silver to buy a house. Lets hope your last payment is from silver money also :D

Hear hear! :P

I know nothing about silver and gold coins. Do they really gain much value beyond their precious metal value by what's printed on them?

This is one ounce of silver...

So 1 oz of silver is about $17. Is all the value beyond that just in popularity and rarity?

Basically yes. Low mintages (rarity) and big series (popularity). I truly believe that gold and silver are massively undervalued at today's prices and will have a huge breakout in the future.

Pretty damn cool that you paid a house down payment with your former collection.

Thanks for the info. I will definitely follow your coin related content more closely.

Thanks man. Yeah I also think it's pretty cool. Now that house has a steady stream of income for me as a rental property.

Yep the Phil is classic and you gotta have atleast one up in the stack

They are a nice looking round, thanks for sharing, cheers.

The Phils don't seem have caught on in the US. Maybe they are more popular in Australia and Europe?
