Unlike gold, silver cannot be stored in the ground forever. In nature, silver begins to oxidize and lose its properties. The photo shows an ancient silver ring that was lost by its owner 300 years ago and found again last year. When I found it, I was disappointed, the ring was broken, the former owner did not break it, it was broken by time. After lying in the ground for a long time, it split into two parts. Luckily I found these two pieces and will soon be sending these pieces to a professional jeweler who will restore the antique ring again. Do you think it’s worth restoring such things?

Wow, 300 years, that's incredible! I think it's absolutely worth restoring and how wonderful that you found it. There's a TV show in the UK that's called "The Repair Shop"about restoring old family heirlooms etc, and it's amazing what they can do to make them look as good as new again. Thanks for sharing 😊
