Wishing all my fellow coin collectors and precious metal junkies, a very happy St Patrick's day.

If like me, you began your coin collection journey by simply looking at the change in your pocket, then I hope "the luck of the Irish" rubs off on you and you find those "error coins", those rare dates and any missing ones you may need.

Here, in the UK, this £2 coin is one of the rarest circulating-coins. It was released in 2002 to celebrate the home nations participation in the commonwealth games hosted by the UK in that year.

Each country of the UK - Wales, Scotland, England and Northern Ireland, had a specific design added to the £2 coin design. If you take a close look at the flag (to the left of the athlete) you'll see that a small N.Ireland decall has been added to the centre. This is the only change to the coin's, with Wales having a dragon and Scotland having the Scottish flag, with Enlang just not having the crown seen on the Northern Ireland flag.
