World champions Germany secured a first Confederations Cup title after victory against Copa America winners Chile in Sunday's final in St Petersburg.
Lars Stindl hit the first-half winner following a mistake by Marcelo Diaz. Chile utterly dominated the early exchanges, and could have been several goals ahead but for some wayward finishing, fine goalkeeping and last-ditch defending. The young Germans played well to keep their composure, as Chile's frustration took the game out of the refs hands. Was a thrilling second half that's for sure. Congrats to the young guys they were the best team of the tourny.
