If you are a die hard Dallas Cowboy's fan like I am, there are certain things about this season that you just absolutely have to love...the #1 thing being the absence of Tony Romo in the Dallas backfield. Since his most recent injury, during a pre-season game against the Eagles, the Dallas Cowboys have had to rely on backup QB Dak Prescott.

Dak Prescott came to the Dallas Cowboys as their 4th round, 135th overall draft pick. He played college football for Missouri State, but what might be even more impressive is that prior to college, Dak was homeschooled. This is by far one of the greatest stories to unfold in the NFL this year.

Dak took very little time catching the attention of NFL gurus around the league and in the sports media. This past Sunday Dak Prescott set an NFL record for rookie QB's starting a season...a record previously held by Tom Brady of the New England Patriots...of throwing 163 pass attempts without an interception. His level of play in Romo's absence will make it difficult for Jerry Jones to stick by his boy Tony.

In step with Dak is another rookie in the Cowboy's backfield, who is also setting records, Ezekiel Elliott. Elliott comes out of Ohio State University and in his first full NFL season he has averaged over 130 yards rushing in each of the last 4 games the Dallas Cowboys have played.

This could end up being a very prosperous season for the Dallas Cowboys and their fans, especially if this unit is allowed to continue setting the stage. The addition of Dez Bryant back in the lineup would give this team a legitimate Big 3, the likes of which have not been seen in Dallas since the departure of Aikman, Smith, and Irvin; the last time the Cowboys had an established dynasty. With any luck Romo will be wearing NY Jets uniform by the end of this season, or the start of the next!

With a 5-1 record and a future bright enough to require sunglasses...it's a great time to be a Dallas Cowboy's fan!
