Fighter Profile: Jorge Masvidal

Jorge 'Gamebred' Masvidal is a true mixed martial arts pioneer and one of the most prolific, and polarizing fighters in the MMA world. He is a slick, lanky boxer with quite the long reach, and he possesses an immaculate ground game in terms of both offense and defense. He sways fans at times with his inclination to coast when he knows his opponent can't handle his pace, this has cost him dearly in fights including those with title implications.

Jorge has found himself in the top 10 globally his whole career, whether in Japan or in 'Strikeforce'...Masvidal is a true veteran with a spectacular resume! 'Gamebred' is one of the most durable fighters at lightweight and welterweight and he rides his chin and fast hands into every victory. Lightweight top 10 contender Michael Chiesa is one of the best grapplers in the 155 division, and he was out grappled wall to wall by the Gamebred one. Masvidal's arsenal of chokes and willingness to throw hands make him an always dangerous, and always entertaining fighter to those who appreciate his style.

Fighter Profile: Jake Ellenberger

Jake 'The Juggernaut' Ellenberger was a once feared and almost indomitable force in the UFC's welter weight division. 11 years and 43 fights after his debut, the Jug make his return to the Octagon almost as rejuvenated as he was a decade ago. A fearsome orthodox striker, Jake is known for his solid chin and legendary punching power.

His cement block of a right hand with his new found switch kicking game has made him a lethal force in the cage once again; the Kings MMA fight camp and striking instruction of Rafael Corderiro have reshaped Jake into a more technical brawler...EllenB was able to finish a top 5 contender in Matt Brown with a single liver kick his last out. Ellenberger had a streak of tough losses to young guns like Lawler and Gastellum, but never count out an old man in a sport where men die young.

The Matchup

This is a truly funky martial arts matchup with no real divisional standings for the winner at 170 pounds. We are in the Conor McGregor era, and even the welterweight division is feeling the stall of contenders and lack of belts for those who deserve them! Regardless, both men are finding a resurgence in their careers...and they both meet after an amazing past win in their last bouts.

The long striker with a sneaky ground game has caused problems for Ellenberger before, but Masvidal has also shown to freeze against power hitters with a stifling ground game. This matchup pits Jorge and his endless, voluminous striking against Jake and his undying power. Both these guys are as durable as they come so do not expect an explosive finish, but expect heartfelt violence for a good three rounds!

How to Play

• Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).

• Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).

• After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.

The Stake Pool:

• The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.

• 30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.

• 70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.

• Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.

• Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.

• Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.
