Two featherweight destroyers go to war in the heart of Ontario, Canada. UFC 206 will crown it's #1 contender in the sport's most stacked division.
Anthony "Showtime" Pettis
VS
Max "Blessed" Holloway
Fighter Profile: Anthony "Showtime" Pettis
Anthony 'Showtime' Pettis is the always flashy and vibrant karate stylist fighting out of RoufusSport Gym in his hometown of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. 'Showtime' is the former 'WEC' and 'UFC' lightweight champion; he won both titles in spectacular fashion and continued one of the most impressive lightweight streaks of all time.
Pettis' 5 fight win streak in the Octagon is legendary; he was able to finish supreme grappler and top 10 contender Joe Lauzon with a single head kick, and he folded now top 5 welterweight contender Donald Cerrone with a single blow to the liver. Jiu Jitsu black belts in Benson Henderson and Gilbert Melendez almost looked shell shocked when tagged by Pettis, his ability to hurt and finish the fight with an arsenal of chokes makes him an incredibly dangerous threat everywhere the fight goes.
Pettis enjoys keeping fights standing, and at his new weight class of 145 pounds, he seems to have retained a lot of the power and speed he flaunted as the 155-pound champion. Charles Oliviera as a first test to the division showed that Pettis is a top 5 caliber fighter, and with that performance, he takes on another streaking lion hungry for gold.
Fighter Profile: Max "Blessed" Holloway
Max 'Blessed' Holloway is the 25-year-old phenom fighting out of Gracie Technics gym in Waianae, Hawaii. His 9 fight win streak in the UFC's most competitive weight class is a testament to his fortitude and fight intelligence. Max was a 21-year-old fighter taking on top-ranked veterans like Dennis Bermudez and Dustin Poirier when he entered the UFC, his run as of late was no surprise to fans who saw this young man tested early.
Max is the only fighter in the featherweight division to take Conor McGregor to a decision...his durability and ferocious Hawaiian spirit are always present in the Octagon. He is a loose striker with a very long reach, he refrains from too many kicks as his boxing and clinch game are incredibly savvy. He has a good takedown game against the fence, he utilizes his long limbs very well to sweep and attain dominant positions on shorter all around fighters.
The chokes of Holloway are quite vicious, and if he is able to hurt his opponent...expect a lethal "D'arce" or "guillotine" to finish like the one that fell Andre Fili. Max is truly a tough test for anyone at featherweight or the division above, his unreal pace and volume can not be matched...only avoided and countered. It will take a very special man to beat Holloway on the right night as this kid is as high level as they come.
The Matchup
The matchup is a marvelous one! Very rarely do we see such high-level talent from two different weight classes facing each other, let alone in a 5 round main event. Max Holloway is a gifted striker who lands combinations with ease and isn't afraid to engage and adapt to any situation. Max is always stalking his foe, and will remain throwing high volumes of accurate punches and knees until his opponent feigns exhaustion...or falls unconscious.
Anthony Pettis is quite the contrarian to Max's style, he is very low volume but much more powerful with the blows he delivers. He will linger on the outside for the right moment, and fire off brutal body kicks to open the opponent's guard and make them throw strikes out of rhythm. Both men are very accurate and deceptive at range, Max is a technician with his hands whereas Anthony is a technician with his feet. Max is the better boxer of the two, but Anthony's ability to keep range with kicks and counter with short shots on the inside may pose problems for Holloway when seeking entry on his strikes. Max has the much more active and violent clinch, he is good at using his lanky frame to wrap opponents up and beat on them against the fence with his version of the 'Thai plum'.
Both men have amazing chins and cardio, the likelihood of either man getting finished is slim to none. Pettis has been through 25 minutes of war in the past whereas this will be Max's first 5 round main event. 'Blessed' has looked incredible through his 9 fight win streak, his cardio and technique stays constant and improves as the fight goes on..but we have never seen him approach a champion round of a main event, and that changes everything. Will the voluminous pressure and stellar pace of Holloway outshine Pettis' flashy yet effective striking and champion level experience? Both men are future legends in the art of combat..the gods of war are pleased with this one!

How to Play
Vote on the main post to enter the bet (main post rewards will also be added to the Stake Pool).
Cast your Vote Bet on ONLY ONE outcome for which you bet on for the win (Multiple comment votes will be automatically disqualified by the script, unvote and revote counts as multiple votes and will be disqualified).
After 24 hours, the post and related game comments payout to the pool; remember 25% voters rewards are deducted from the total post payout value first as per Steem curation rules. Voters are rewarded in standard fashion in proportion to their Steem Power holdings.
The Stake Pool:
The remaining 75% of the total payout is paid out in 50% Steem Power and 50% in liquid currencies, the latter now varies in payout ratio after the new fork. To make the process less complicated, we have decided to use all paid out SBD to buy Steem in the internal market to create a grand total Steem Stake Pool.
30% of the Stake Pool will be retained, of which 15% will go to the writer/sports presenter of the post, and the 15% balance towards editing, development and advertising.
70% of the Stake Pool will be held until the event/game outcome is determined.
Once the winning outcome is determined, we will execute a proprietary developed script that will divide and pay out the Steem rewards equally, using the Power Up method, to Mass Distribute SP to all participants that voted on the main post as the entrance fee as well as voted on the correct comment representing the winning outcome.
Only participants with a Reputation of 35 or more will qualify to earn SP rewards, but non-qualifiers can still vote and comment in support of the redistribution initiative.
Entry cut-off time is the earlier of the post payout or the start of the event.

@steemsports is not a traditional betting platform and no fiat currency is used as rewards or in casting bets; as such does not fall under any gaming and gambling jurisdictions; but even so, users are urged to first consult with the laws and age restrictions of their countries.
@steemsports in the unlikely event that when the Stake Pool is divided up between the winners and the nomenclature resolution goes below the third decimal place (example: 0.0001), then Steem decimal restrictions won’t allow a payout and the pool will carry over to the next game.
Please vote responsibly :).
