It is confirmed today that a unification bout between Middleweight International Boxing Federation title holder Daniel "The Miracle Man" Jacobs and Saul ‘Canelo’ Alvarez current World Boxing Council and World Boxing Association champion.
Saul Canelo Alvarez is fresh from his dominant win against Rocky Fielding while Daniel Jacobs won a split decision against Serhiy Derevianchenko to claim the vacant IBF Middleweight title in their latest fights.
Alvarez wants this fight in order to have all the titles of this division under him, to be called as the undisputed world middleweight champion. He would just be one step further if he beats Daniel Jacobs in their upcoming fight, the other belt is being held by WBO champion Demetrius Andrade.
It would be a quest of supremacy for Alvarez while this is a great opportunity for Jacobs to attain another level of boxing stardom and create his own legacy of being one of the boxing greats. This chance of beating the hottest name in the boxing world today could propel Daniel Jacob's career to new heights.
The fight is scheduled on May 4th, on the eve of Mexican's popular celebration of Cinco De Mayo's festivities. It is believed that the event will happen on T-Mobile Arena, Las Vegas, Nevada. The listed title up for grabs are for IBF middleweight title; for WBA (Super), WBC, The Ring and lineal middleweight titles.
