Day 4 of the 2018 Winter Olympics is in the books and we are back with another medal count update. There were several events that gave out medals on the fourth day of action. Norway continues to stay at the top of the leader board with 11 total medals including 3 Gold. The Netherlands and Canada are tied for second with 10 total medals but the Netherlands has more Gold medals with 4. Germany is next with 9 total medals but is leading all countries with 5 Gold medals.

One of the stars of day 4 was Chloe Kim. She is an American snowboarder who is only 17 years old but has reached the pinnacle of her sport. Kim had the performance of a lifetime on Tuesday when she won the halfpipe Gold medal. This was not her first major win though in the sport. Kim burst onto the scene back in 2015 when she won her first of four Gold medals in the Winter X Games in the SuperPipe event. She also won two Gold medals in the Winter Youth Olympics in 2016 in the Halfpipe and Slopestyle. Choe Kim’s bright smile will be serve her well as she celebrates her fantastic day.

One of the most heavily favored teams in the entire 2018 Winter Olympic Games was the Canadian Mixed Doubles Curling Team. Kaitlyn Lawes and John Morris were by far the best duo in the event and they did not disappoint. Even with all of the hype and pressure, Lawes and Morris won the Gold medal with ease as they beat the Swiss team by a big margin of 10-3. The golden pair are sure to be back in the action in the 2022 Games.

Day 5 will be another opportunity for new stars and heros to be crowned. Men’s hockey will finally get going including games that feature the United States and Russia. The men’s Snowboarding Halfpipe finals will be happening along with the women’s Speed Skating final. We will be back later with another Olympic Medal Count Update and highlight some of the starts of Day 5.
