2nd Biggest Comeback of All-time: UCLA vs Texas A&M

What a wild night at the Rose Bowl! UCLA came back from a 34 point deficit to stun the Texas A&M Aggies, 45-44! This was absolutely the game of the year thus far in college football. Actually, this was one of the biggest comebacks in the history of the sport.

It was a one sided game in the first half. The Aggies were running the ball down the throats of the Bruins defense. Trayveon Williams was running wild and looking like he was a man playing against boys. He easily eclipsed the 100 yard mike by halftime.

The blowout was on and the Aggies took a 44-10 lead midway through the 3rd quarter. It looked as if UCLA Head Coach, Jim Mora, would be on the chopping block for starting the season by being blown out on national tv. But then the tides started to turn.

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen started doing his Tom Brady impression. Like Brady in the Super Bowl, Rosen started a 4th quarter comeback that would become historic. When Rosen hit Darren Andrews for a big play, the game started to get real interesting. The 42 yard touchdown got UCLA with in 13 points.

The Aggies were unable to eat any clock or move the ball. They punted and gave Rosen the ball back. He got the UCLA offense down to the 16 yard line with 3 minutes left, when he made an incredible pass to Theo Howard for a touchdown. This got the game to 44-38.

Texas A&M got the ball back and again had to quickly punt. UCLA received the ball on their own 34 yard line. The crowd was anticipating was was about to happen next and were cheering with every play. It all came down to a 4th and 6 and the clock had less than a minute left. Rosen got the first down and then on the next play, he made history. He faked a spike to stop the clocks and then threw a beautiful fade to the back of the endzone for a touchdown! UCLA kicked the extra point and won the game 45-44.

Rosen threw for 5 touchdowns and looked like the best quarterback in the country. Head Coach Jim Mora’s job is safe and their season is full of promise. But the Aggies Head Coach, Kevin Sumlin, might now be in hot water. Regardless, it was a fantastic and exciting game! What a great first full week of college football!
