Final 4 Preview: Kansas vs Villanova

The 2018 NCAA Tournament is now down to the Final 4 and the action will take place on Saturday night in San Antonio. The #1 Villanova Wildcats and the #1 Kansas Jayhawks will do battle to make the national championship game. The game tips off at 7:49pm Central Standard Time and can be seen on National Television on TBS. It will take place at the Alamodome. Villanova is favored by 5 points and the over/under is 154.5 points.

The Villanova Wildcats are definitely the favorite of the last four teams alive in the tournament. They are coming off of an impressive 71-59 win over the Texas Tech Red Raiders. Jalen Brunson led the way with 15 points but did not have one of his signature games. He struggled from the field and would go 0-4 from downtown. But that was not enough to cost them the win and the Wildcats moved on. Mikal Bridges also struggled shooting the ball. In fact, Brunson, Bridges and Paschall would combine to shoot 0-11 from deep. If they want to beat Kansas, this can’t happen again.

The Kansas Jayhawks played one of their best games of the year and knocked off the Duke Blued Devils 85-81 in overtime. Malik Newman was dynamite and led the game in scoring with 32 points. He hit 8-19 from the field and 5-12 from deep. But his free throw shooting of 11-12 made the difference down the stretch. Devonte’ Graham shot the ball a little better than he has of late and made 3-8 from the 3 point line. The biggest concern though for head coach Bill Self is the lack of depth on his team. Kansas once again used only a 7 man lineup. If they get into any early foul trouble, that could spell lights out.

This is going to be by far one of the most competitive games of the college basketball season. Both teams have big time talent and big time coaches. It will be a fantastic battle and I can’t wait to watch it.
