With four minutes of normal time left to play in the game last night and with the game tied 1-1, Liverpool goalkeeper Karius was guilty of bringing down Spurs ace, Harry Kane in the penalty box, but the England international failed to convert the resulting penalty which would have put his team ahead for the first time, he could only send the tame penalty straight at the goalkeeper to the relief of all Liverpool fans at the Anfiled Stadium.

Tottenham were trailing in this game thanks to a first half goal from the in-form Mohamed Salah in the 3rd minute. But 3 goals in the last 10 minutes of the game ensured that the game ended on a thrilling note. Victor Wanyama was brought on in the 79th minute in place of Moussa Dembele, and it did not take him long to make an impact in the game as he drove a ferocious drive into the back of the net to draw the game level. Seven minutes later, Kane missed a penalty to put Spurs ahead and was made to pay as that man again, Mo Salah; who became the fastest Liverpool player to net 20 Premier League goals was able to wiggle his way past 3 defenders and lash a shot into the roof of the net to put Liverpool ahead.

This lead lasted just 4 minutes into additional time as record signing Van Dijk caught substitute Erik Lamela in the box with an attempted clearance and this time, the resultant penalty was converted by Harry Kane to ensure the match ended in a 2-2 draw. This result puts Liverpool in 3rd place temporarily, till Chelsea’s game against Watford this evening. Tottenham remains in 5th place, 4 points ahead of Arsenal in 6th place.
