Dallas Cowboys running back, Ezekiel Elliott, is back testifying today for the second day in a row in hopes to get his 6 game suspension reduced. The team's outspoken owner, Jerry Jones, made a controversial statement, “No evidence here” last night. The sports world is erupting today at those comments and we will tell you why.

The events allegedly took place in July of 2016. There were 5 separate incidents in which Elliott's ex-girlfriend accused him of beating her over a 3 day span. A glaring fact that makes Jerry Jones comments perplexing is that the NFL Players Association is appealing the 6 game suspension based on the “process.” At no point have they said that Elliott is innocent. Jerry Jones seems to be the ONLY person trying to make that argument. If there is “No evidence here” as Jones said on Tuesday night, then wouldn't the NFLPA be making the same argument?
The NFL’s investigation is 160 pages that details the events that Elliott is accused of. But it also details the controversial comments that the accuser admitted to. Those comments included thoughts of blackmailing Elliott and threatening to release multiple sex tapes of the couple. Jerry Jones or anyone else simply can't accuse the report of being one sided. It is equally as harsh on the accuser as Elliot.

Jerry Jones has had his mind made up though for several weeks. He said this back in July, “I have reviewed everything, and there is absolutely nothing - not one thing - that had anything to do with domestic violence.” He continued to say, “My opinion is that there's not even an issue over ‘he said, she said’ there's not even an issue there.” But how can he be so sure? Would the NFL and Roger Goodell really suspend Elliott with no proof? After the Deflate Gate debacle and the drawn out court case that caused, the last thing the NFL or Goodell wants is another long and controversial court case.
We likely won't know anything more for a few days. There is already talk today that the hearing might go into Thursday and then we still don't know how soon a ruling will come out. Regardless, the Dallas Cowboys are opening the season on Sunday Night Football against the New York Giants on September 10th on national tv. Jerry Jones will be in the spotlight on that night, but for all the wrong reasons.
What do you think of the case? Are Jerry Jones comments out of line? Do you think the suspension will be upheld? Let us know what you think. Thanks for following @steemsports and you can catch me @scottybuckets Cheers!

Thanks for reading

hmm hot news

I love this post and specially this sport game too

I think it might be time for Jerry to retire.

Do you think he shouldn't of commented? He will be lurking around that stadium until he dies.

Nice Post

Jerry Jones has said some outrageous things in the past but this was one of the worst. He cannot be saying these kinds of things and expect people to take him seriously. I know he's protecting one of the star players of his team but the case is overwhelming full of details that make things very unclear to the public and it's really hard to say there is not offense given that. In a more sentimental sense, we need to not be going on a witch hunt of Ezekiel Elliot's girlfriend because if she is not lying then she is a victim and deserves to be treated with respect.

While there is no credible evidence anywhere near enough to even be found liable in civil court, in the kangaroo court that is Roger Goddell corner office, Zeke's FUCKED!
