Theo Walcott is set to leave Arsenal after 12 years of service. He joined Arsenal from Southampton as a 16-year-old. He scored 108 goals in 397 appearances and won The FA Cup and The Community Shield twice. The England winger is set to cost Everton 20 million pounds. The departure of the England International is both for the good of Arsenal and himself as a professional footballer. This is a World Cup year, and it will be very important for him to play constantly in other to convince England coach he deserves a place in the World Cup team in Russia. For Arsenal, it frees up both space and finances to bring in a better player in his position, with Malcolm of Bordeaux being eyed at the moment.

Chelsea will have to pay West Ham United 20 million pounds to secure the services of English striker Andy Carroll. The former Newcastle and Liverpool striker is a surprise for the defending champions. Carroll was a time the most expensive English player when he joined Liverpool in 2010 for 35 million pounds. He joined West Ham in 2012 initially on loan after an unsuccessful spell at the Merseyside club where he scored 11 goals in 58 appearances. His loan move was made permanent when West Ham paid 15 million pounds for him in 2013. He has scored 32 goals in 124 appearances for West Ham. A fraction of the Chelsea fans is growing increasingly frustrated with their clubs dealings in the transfer market with the last two transfers being Drinkwater and Ross Barkley.

Gabonese forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has agreed to personal terms with Arsenal ahead of a move from Dortmund. The former African player of the year joined Dortmund from St-Etienne in 2012 and scored 141 goals in 212 appearances winning the DFB-Pokal in 2016-17 and the DFL-Supercup in 2013 and 2014. Aubameyang is one of the three high profile transfers the Gunners hope to conclude before the end of January. He is termed the replacement to Alexis Sanchez, and it will be interesting to see how he will combine with Alexandre Lacazette and Mesut Ozil among others. Known for his prolific goal-scoring abilities, he will be a much-needed addition to an Arsenal side who are lacking goals at the moment.

Chelsea is willing to allow Belgian striker Michy Batshuayi move to Dortmund. The German side was monitoring Batshuayi at Marseille before he decided to join Chelsea two years ago. Batshuayi joined Chelsea for 40 million euros in 2016 and scored 16 goals in 49 appearances. He has struggled for playing time throughout his Chelsea career making just 2 starts this season. It is clear that Antonio Conte has little or no faith in Batshuayi, with Morata misfiring a lot of recent, the Italian manager would rather play Eden Hazard in the false nine position than start Michy Batshuayi upfront. A move to the German giants will be a good one for his career.

European Champions Real Madrid is set to trigger the release clause of Inter Milan captain Mauro Icardi. The 23-year-old Argentine striker has a 98 million pound release clause. He joined Inter in 2013 and has scored 96 goals in 168 appearances. He was Serie A Top-Scorer in the 2014-15 season with 22 goals. Madrid has fallen way below Barcelona on the Spanish log and is in need of a change, a change that will bring in the goals they surprisingly seem to be lacking at the moment. Toni Kross said earlier this week after their loss to Villareal that Madrid should now turn their focus to securing a top 4 position so as to participate in the Champions League next season.

28-year-old Chilean Alexis Sanchez is set to move to Manchester United with Henrikh Mkhitaryan moving the other way. United have offered 25 million plus + Mkhitaryan for Sanchez. Sanchez will be paid 350,000 pounds a week, a 25 million pound signing on fee and the iconic No7 shirt. Manchester United seem to have hijacked the Sanchez deal from their bitter rivals Manchester City. This comes as a big relief to the entire EPL as the possibility of Sanchez linking up with Guardiola’s men would bring fear on any team in the league.
