United States 2018 Women’s Olympian Maame Biney could be the next BIG STAR of the Winter Olympics. Biney is racing in the Short Track Speedskating event and qualified for the next round after a fantastic performance today. She will be back in action on Tuesday in her quest for her first ever Gold medal.
Maame Biney is one of the youngest Americans to compete in the Winter Olympics as she just turned 18 years old in January. Biney was not born in the United States though. Like so many great immigrants, she came to the U.S. when she was 5 years old from Accra, Ghana. Her dad was living in the states and she loved it so much that she wanted to stay, and she did.

The best part of the Olympics is seeing young and fresh faces that are living out their dreams. Maame Biney is a great example of that. She has been practicing and hoping for this chance since she was a little girl. In fact, she has been on ice skates since six! And now in these Winter Olympics she is the second ever African-born woman to make an Olympic appearance for the United States. What a dream come true. Biney is at the top of my list for hopeful Gold medalists during this games. If she is able to bring home the hardware, you can expect to see that beautiful smile all across the world and in every United States endorsement.
