The Indiana Pacers almost dethroned the “King”, LeBron James in their Eastern Conference first round playoffs matchup and came up short in an exciting seven game series. The Pacers are on the verge of ending LeBron James dominance in the Eastern Conference but they lack a few pieces and character to finally beat James and the Cavs. Nobody trusted the Pacers after the Paul George trade, who were supposed to be one of the league’s worst team, but ended up finishing 5th in the East at the end of the regular season. Led by the first time All-Star guard, and locked to win “Most Improved Player” Victor Oladipo, the Pacers look like a legitimate threat in the Eastern Conference for years to come. But for them to be actually considered as a title contender, there are some moves they came make that wold improve their roster this summer. Now, we will take a look at the most strategic moves they could make in the upcoming off-season.

Sign Julius Randle. The Los Angeles Lakers will be trying to clear more cap space so they can to land a top tier free agent this summer. Randle will be a restricted free agent and the Lakers are unlikely to match any high offer sheets that Randle receives. They already have a great forward in Kyle Kuzma and I think that the Lakers will let Randle walk away. The Pacers should pursue Randle to pair up with Myles Turner and build a formidable backcourt. Randle is improving defensively and his offensive skills were already great. Randle and Turner could become a dynamic duo for years to come.

Trade Thaddeus Young. Young is an underrated power forward that can provide big buckets when needed. He is a great rebounder and hustler. He proved it in the series against the Cleveland Cavaliers. Young was a huge factor in that series and made an impact contributing when the Pacers needed him most. But if the Pacers acquired Julius Randle, they don’t need Thaddeus Young because Randle can provide what Young is doing, and Randle can provide it in a much better way. Randle is also young and had a lot of room to get even better.

Get Paul George back. I know this one might be impossible as Paul George and the Pacers didn’t part ways nicely and George wants to cut any ties he had with the Pacers. The Pacers also proved that they can contend and make the playoffs without him but this idea makes a lot of sense for both George and the Indiana Pacers Organization. Paul George has been the face of the franchise and the go-to-guy for the Indiana Pacers for many years so he knows how to lead this team. The Pacers also had a lot of money to offer George a max contract. And if this happens, Indiana will be one of the most dangerous team to face with the trio of Victor Oladipo, Julius Randle and Paul George plus a great supporting cast.

Paul George back ? hilarious. He would be second option now.

Go,,, go,,,, 😁💪

Wow... Excelent post sharing...

Is funny how the media made a big deal about Indiana but they almost didn't mentioned the bucks or the other 7 games series. The bucks where at some point the team scheduled to play against LeBron, but they dump the last game in order to avoid the king. Eventually they end up in a 7 game series against the Celtics while 76 finish in a 6 games against Miami which almost end up playing against Cleveland.

thanks for sharing very interesting take, cant wait to see what the offseason brings, but first coference finals!
