Minnesota expanded their winning streak to three in a row as they defeat the Canucks in the Canucks home arena, 5-2. Four of the five goals that came off the Wild sticks were shot by single-digit goalers on the Wild team. Devyn Dubnyk stopped 30 of the 32 shots the Nucks shot at him, expanded his personal winning streak to three in a row.
As Dubnyk was trying to put a location on the puck, not even a minute into the game, Del Zotto came from behind the net and slid one to the side that was Dubynk-less. Thereafter, Praise reponded with a goal of his own, advancing his scoring streak to 6 in a row as he shot one over Nilson’s shoulder.
Matt Cullen pushed the deficit to 2-1 early in the second after he decked the the Canucks goalie, scoring his 10th of the year, finally moving into the double-digits category. Jussi Jokinen brought the game back to a tie as he rebounded Gudbranson’s shot. This was Jokinen’s third goal of this year, and his second consecutive.
Minnesota made a lead change once again as Staal deflected one in. Eric Staal, who is arguably the Wild’s best player this year scored his 37th goal of the year. Charlie Coyle and Marcus Foligno scored corresponding goals in the last minute of the third period. Coyle’s goal came with no trouble as the net remained empty, and Foligno put one by Nilsson.
