The 24-0 undefeated lightweight tornado in Khabib Nurmagomedov finally makes his long awaited return this December 30th. The longtime perennial lightweight contender takes one step close in his conquest for the belt, and to be named the utmost divisional and pound for pound king.

His camp in the American Kickboxing Academy has been somewhat disbanded lately with it's core members having long layoffs. Cain Velasquez and Daniel Cormier have both been preoccupied, and although Luke Rockhold is training for a title fight of his own, he has remained in Florida for the interim.

The well being of Khabib's mental fortitude has been somewhat taken over by his father, who also trains his masterful wrestling and sambo technique. Khabib should come into this fight as strong and as tactical as ever, it is simply his nutrition and weight that must be on point.

The low spots in the Eagle's career have really only come at his last minute ditching of a main event interim title fight against Tony 'El Cucuy' Ferguson. That opportunity against a very dangerous competitor is exactly what Khabib had asked for, but his preparedness unfortunately did not include his weight being correct.

A win over his New Years competition in Edson Barboza can lead to a penultimate title shot against reigning UFC superstar Conor McGregor. Khabib is not so much worried about Conor as he is about the impending legacy he is creating. Khabib is the true dark horse at 155 pounds....
