The Houston Rockets made the 200-mile trek west to San Antonio to take on them in-state rivals. The Rockets hold the second-best record in the Western Conference, one spot ahead of the third-place Spurs.
Houston jumped out to a 27-14 first quarter lead behind James Harden’s 12 points. The Spurs were outscored again in the second quarter by 3 points, trailing 54-38 at the half, their largest deficit of the game.

Danny Green put up 14 in the third period, helping San Antonio edge Houston in the third quarter by four. The Spurs continued to gain ground on the Rockets after a 10-2 run that spanned from late in the third quarter to early in the fourth quarter, cutting the Rockets lead to six. The Spurs countered with an immediate 8-2 run, building their lead back up to twelve. The double-digit lead was all they needed to put away the home team, finishing them off with a 102-91 victory.

James Harden led the six double-figure scorers for the Rockets with 28 points and 11 assists. Danny Green was one of only three players for San Antonio in double-digits with 22 points in the loss.
The San Antonio Spurs will be back in action on Saturday night when they hos the Utah Jazz. But the biggest game of the weekend will be in Cleveland. Lebron James and the Cleveland Cavs will host the 37-13 Houston Rockets in what may be a preview of the NBA Finals! The game will be broadcast on National Television on ABC.
